Explore Aspira Hotels in Krabi
Transformed from a small provincial capital into an international travel hub, Krabi offers a taste of everything Southern Thailand is renowned for—emerald seas, palm-fringed beaches, towering karst cliffs, superb cuisine, and a laid-back culture. While Krabi Town itself might not detain you for long, with its international airport providing swift access from Bangkok or Phuket, the surrounding island getaways beckon exploration. If arriving directly from an international flight, consider unwinding on the shores of Ao Nang, Krabi’s main resort beach, where the sun and sea can help alleviate any jet lag.
Although Krabi offers creature comforts, its primary role is as a gateway to the Andaman Islands, notably the popular Phi Phi Islands and the diver’s paradise of Koh Lanta. Here are some of our recommendations when staying with us in Ao Nang or Klong Muang:
Phra Nang Beach (Phranang Beach)
The intricately textured rock faces of the Railay Peninsula attract climbers globally, with rock climbing courses accommodating all skill levels and offering a unique perspective of Krabi from above. Accessible only by boat, Phranang Beach is part of a 4-island tour, nestled on the Railay Peninsula between Ao Nang and Krabi in southern Thailand.
Railay Beach
Railay Beach, with its powdery sand, entices visitors not only for its natural beauty but also for the rock-climbing opportunities, considered among the best in Thailand. Accessible solely by boat from Krabi (90 minutes) or Ao Nang (15 minutes), Railay Beach prohibits motorized vehicles, allowing exploration on foot. Guided climbing tours cater to climbers of all abilities, making this a must-visit destination for both novices and experienced climbers.
Tiger Cave Temple
Situated just outside Krabi town, surrounded by dense forest, the Tiger Cave Temple derives its name from the tigers that purportedly inhabited its limestone caves. Today, Buddhist relics and statues fill the caves, offering a self-guided exploration or a guided tour, including refreshing dips in nearby pools, hot springs, and waterfalls. The temple is easily accessible by various modes of transportation, including mini-bus, taxi, tuk-tuk, or scooter.
Emerald Pool
Nestled in the protected evergreen forest of Khao Phra-Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary, the Emerald Pool is a natural travertine swimming pool with blue-green waters that transform into a vivid emerald under the right light. Part of mainland Krabi attractions, the Emerald Pool is often visited along with the Tiger Cave Temple and nearby hot springs.
Ao Nang Beach
Once a tranquil fishing village, Ao Nang has evolved into a central hub for tourists heading to popular destinations like Railay Beach, Hong Islands, and Phuket. Conveniently located near Krabi Town, Ao Nang offers a range of outdoor activities and serves as a departure point for island tours. Accessible by taxi, drive, or white songthaews (open-air buses), Ao Nang is approximately 35 minutes from Krabi Town.
Hong Island
Koh Hong, nestled within Than Bok Khorani National Park, remains unspoiled and undeveloped, with minimal construction, including only four cabins for park staff. Accessible by longtail boat or speedboat from Krabi’s beaches, particularly Ao Nang, Hong Island boasts crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and limestone cliffs.
